Jesus present

Catholics believe that jesus is present when two or more people gather together to pray right?

But how can jesus be present when he has risen, he doesn’t come down to earth until judgement day right?

Also if you were to say that jesus was present spiritually not physically wouldn’t that be the Holy Spirit?

Hi Evanescence!

One of the things that we sometimes forget about is that Jesus is God and one of the attributes of God is omnipotence, (the power to do anything). As such, God is beyond the bounds of space, time and (most especially) our capacity to completely understand just how powerful He really is.

Jesus therefore can be everywhere (omnipresence) and anywhere specifically and still not be at all diminished by that.

This probably does not make sense, because even though I am explaining it…I cannot tell you how it is possible, aside from quoting you these verses from Jesus’ own lips.

Matthew 19:26 And Jesus beholding, said to them: With men this is impossible: but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:22 And Jesus saith to him: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking on them, saith: With men it is impossible; but not with God: for all things are possible with God

Luke 18:27 He said to them: The things that are impossible with men, are possible with God.

**All ** Christians believe this or they are not Christians. It is a question of Faith in the same way that we believe that the host and the wine truly are the body and the blood of Christ even though we see no actual change in texture, substance or taste.

Yes, of course it is the Holy Spirit who is Christ and God at the same time. The Holy Spirit was the great gift to the Church, given to Mary and the Disciples in that small room in Jerusalem on that first Pentecost day. The Holy Spirit is the love that flows between the Father and His Son; and between the Son and His Father; the spiration (breathing) of God

Powerful and everlasting God, who is everywhere for all time. All Glory and honour to you, O Lord.
