Ok, so I have a few questions I am having trouble reconciling that I would like to volley off on you guys.

First Question: Did God hate human sacrifice? If so, how is Christ’s sacrifice not a sin?

Second Question: Did Christ commit suicide by sacrificing himself on the Cross?

Third Question: Sacrifices seemed to be pretty elaborate rituals, was this required for Christ’s sacrifice? Because his was rather informal.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Let’s see…

Christ’s sacrifice was not made by humans to a god to please it. It was the deliberate murder of someone the Pharises hated.

Suicide involves take ones own life. Christ allowed himself to be killed for the sake of others. Scripture tells us that to lay down you life for friends is the greatest thing you can do.

Christ’s sacrifice was quite elaborate actually. I would suggest you research the fourth cup of Passover. Here is a start (though I hate the red background!)

Short answers to profound questions. I’m sure others will chime in…

That’s such a weird question. You’re pretty much asking how is God not sinning against Himself.
Second Question: Did Christ commit suicide by sacrificing himself on the Cross?
Suicide and martyrdom and two totally different things. A guy taking a bullet for his girlfriend, is different from guy shooting himself. And if he did, so what? Only God knows where suicide victims go when they die.
Third Question: Sacrifices seemed to be pretty elaborate rituals, was this required for Christ’s sacrifice? Because his was rather informal.
He’s God He makes the rules. He can surpass one of them.

I don’t see him as being particularly informal in any way other than we all are.

At the last supper, much of the action described ties in with the ritual passover meal.
At the synogue he was called upon to read and followed the prescribed method.
At the time of the passover he went up to Jerusalem r times as prescribed by the law (once with his parents and 3 times during his ministry)
At the temple, he was offended by those who were not following the rubrics for how to act in the temple precincts.

He was probably as formal as any Jew living in that time.
