Hello. I’m 58 years old and am getting my BSN, with honors, on Saturday.

Meanwhile, where I’ve been working, my boss has decided to cut my part time hours to next to nothing. I feel so hurt. In the past places where I’ve worked, whenever people started to do this, they’ve told me that they didn’t mean anything, but it has always been a prelude to completely getting me off the schedule, sort of like a passive firing. I’ve gotten really jaded from this. My boss told me this was not the case, but I’m starting a job hunt. I don’t trust employers much.

Please comment only if you have supportive, constructive comments.

Consider looking at the Veterans Administration. They need some good people.

Congratulations, crenfro! With your new degree credentials, you should have an easier time finding more suitable employment. Best of luck, I will add you to my prayer list!

Yes, a sad but true situation.

This is wise.

If God has led you into this field, then He has a place for you to serve, but you will not find it unless you look. You have to check and turn all the handles of the doors until you find the one that opens.

Hello.

Nix on agencies and travel nursing. At this point in my life travel is too much, with my husband and home responsibilities. Also, agencies, while paying very well, also are very stressful for me. You have to be ready to hit the floor, of wherever they send you, and I’m just not made that way. I’ve done agency nursing, and I don’t recommend it for everybody.

I’ve interviewed twice for the VA over the years. They didn’t seem to want me either time.

Made an appointment to see my psychiatrist in a few days.

Also having a lot of doubts in my faith, but that’s another thread.

Thank you all for replying, God is with you.

Congratulations on graduating that is a great achievement! If you are interested in the area mental health nursing is an area that really is always in need and comes in a variety of settings ((name removed by moderator)atient acute care/group homes/residential programs/addiction treatment facilities) .

Just found out that my average is too low, it’s 3.6 and to have honors it’s supposed to be at least 3.7 or something. I feel so embarrassed.

Don’t be embarrassed! Getting your degree is an accomplishment! That is what matters. Whether someone graduates first or last in their class, they still graduated. So again, congratulations!
