Job satisfaction / perfectionism

Wow, they already planned the second interview with the new job. Really feels like the real match and an answer to prayers. It’s a unique position where almost no one in this area is qualified in, so I feel they really want me soon so they don’t loose me.

But also I feel (too?) cautious of good luck, because I’ve been disappointed so often in my job switches. Something tells me this is different: This is a challenging function with a lot of different fields which all I experienced in the past (instead of now, an easy function in only one field without any real experience). It seems I’ll be back in my good old habit of checking if everything is in place - which is what stimulates me so much!

After that incident with my coach, when he came back, I guessed he realized that he was rude and then suddenly started smart-talking to me. No apologies or something… but yes, maybe here they are used to seeing expressionless faces…

I came back from holiday. Almost no one asked me how my holiday was (my coach didn’t ask anything, I had to go to my boss to initiate some small talk, and even my best befriended colleagues just asked one thing and then went on with the nerdy subjects, starting from my remark)… It’s not a disaster and there are jokes and nice words here and there, so there is time for fun and social talk. But just like there is no real interest in the other. Even if people leave the company (in good standing!) there’s no real appreciation of another person. I didn’t hear anyone really say a thank-you, just some jokes like “can we still call you when this project goes wrong?”. No one is really mean, it’s just very superficial/ cliché. My mom, my wife and me are guessing it’s because of the rural/ closed area the company is in.
