After the Last Supper (John 14: 1 thru 4) , Jesus said “Let not your heart be troubled…there are many mansions in my Fathers house…I will go and prepare a place for you.”

I will be very, very happy (estatic) if I cross heaven’s threshold and get in the door. In conversations I have heard, I want to get there even if I am in the balcony or I’d be happy to get a seat on the front porch.

The question is: Did Jesus prepare many different rooms and do these rooms have people of different “Ranks” of Holyiness? Do us poor Christians get to go in a room separate from the room where the more Holy people go?

Remember He said," In my Father’s house there are many mansions".

hey I think of it as a library but if it has many rooms. Just think of it as my lords house. A place to eat and a place to rest. A place to learn and a place to sit down and talk!

How does that sound?

It does say though, My fathers house will have four outside walls, each with 3 entrances. This represents the 12 apostles serving as a gateway for humanitys salvation into heaven.

Sounds just wonderful to me! Good words my friend…God bless…

I just hope that is an internet room so I can keep on posting on the FORUMS!😃

:o That’s right, I forgot. Thanks for the headsup. Sometimes I would forget my head if…

Although this may be a serious thread, I find all these answers enlightening, and some very funny, funny indeed:rotfl: !

A Serious thread. YES.

I am the guy who started this thread and I had no idea it would become a place for jokes.

Yessir, I am asking if any of you have heard about the the relativity of Holliness to Which Room. Read the verses in John 14: 1 - 4 .

Are there different rooms? Why?

Everyone in heaven is holy and perfect but, like the stars, each person there will have a different glory (1 Cor 15:41). However, I don’t think Jesus meant that we would be segregated in heaven on that basis but that each one of us has a room in heaven reserved and prepared just for him, his very own bedroom, if you will.

Every man has a different capax dei. Picture the Great Saints as a pint glass and they are full of ale (happiness/grace/charis). Now me and you might well be a half-pint glass or even a whisky glass but we too are full of ale (happiness/grace/charis) so we are all equally full of happiness.

Sorry Exporter;

Rooms have a certain spiritual significance. Once you pass into one, you don’t go back. You continue to strive to move up to the next. Like all analogies, this is a poor one too as far as argument goes. but if you remember the Interior Castle. It is a lot like that. As far as the Scriptural passage, from my understanding of the text - no implication of spiritual worthiness is attached to the rooms. I could be wrong, but I looked it up in some of my exegesis matierla and didn’t see anything right off the bat. It would take some time to be certain however.

Would you like me to look into it in more detail? I figure I owe you that if you like!

Take care and God bless.

p.s. Bill_A - You are both uplifting in mind and funny!

How many? As many as needed…I just hope there’s room at the Inn!!!

Exporter, I have contimplated this many times. My thoughts/questions are of this nature;

I hope, and often pray, that no souls are lost to hell. Yet I wonder how, if my prayer is to be answered, it can reconcile with Gods plan.

I can only imagine that either there is much time to be “purged” in purgatory, or there are differing levels of heaven …or both.

DISMASS2004, Now after I have thought a little more, I think maybe I should not ask if there are certain places in heaven that are either closer to God or perhaps the “rooms” ( Jesus said that!) are segregated for ranks of holiness.

Don’t give your jokes a thought. I ask questions once in a while that people who are not focused in on the topic recieve them as being funny.

:clapping:

Thanks Dismas. I just took the question to ask if people in heaven are segregated. AS living outside of an Exclusive society with the outcast or poor, namely Jesus. I cant see how God Would put us in Seperate rooms, unless it was for purpose of need or to simply say. It was a big enough house with rooms for all, and privacy where none need sleep outside?

People who need to be segregated are cast into purgatory or Hell.

If I get to heaven, first thing I’m asking God is what is the funniest thing that ever happened to someone on Earth and do you have instant replay? And, did You tape all the “Transformers” episodes? 😃

I think I’ll also ask how many girls I could’ve had dates with if I had only asked them out.

Maybe if you’d dated them you’d be in Hell right now :eek: . I’ve had to leave many adult relationships in the past due to lines being crossed :eek:

True. But you know, I’d have lots of questions for an all-knowing God.

Well, the question get more pointed.

Consider St. Peter, The Pope Gregory the Great and one of us. Three souls that got to heaven. It is written that we will be invited to the Great Wedding Feast. Will all three who are mentioned get the same seats or will they be different?

I don’t know where it’;s written, but from childhood I remember about this: Some will get more stars in their crown. What does that mean?

The story about Rooms in Heaven and a Heavenly Banquit are just alagories. We wont be hungry so we wont need to eat. Everyone will be pretty much eaqul but we will all be provided for. Even though we wont be able to physicaly eat. We will be treated well as guests, greeted warmly and there will be a general atmosphere of a party. We just cant imagine what it will be like without gravity to bind us we will be able to move as freely as birds. So we wont need cars, we will never get dirty so we wont need baths. As far as sitting at a table, If you imagine Jesus and Mary at the head of the table, I guess the rest of us will have the same seats and those of us that know eachother will be sitting closed to one another.

People with more stars in their crown, Glory will probably get more recognition for saving lives and souls here on Earth. As it is supposedly recorded by angels when you save a life or a soul. Can you imagine if someone prevented a major catostrophe?. They would litterly have a thousand stars in their crown.
