A man was born, he lived publically and he died tragically. God, in His Mercy and Justice, is the only one to decide that- for anybody.

As far as the alleged evangelicals, well, we Catholics have some visionaries who are less than on the approved list. Perhaps proptestants do, as well.

On to the totally irrelevant issue of the Beatle’s demoninations. Seems Paul was baptized Catholic, and George died Hindu:

Maybe instead of arguing about whether John Lennon is in Hell or not, we should use this as a reminder to pray for his soul which may very well be in Purgatory (although hopefully already in Heaven).

It sounds like JL was seeking in his life and that in itself may have been enough to cause him to call on the name of Jesus and save him at the moment of his death. We can only hope. 👍

according to wikipedia, paul mccartney and george harrison are/were at least nominally catholic. both are of irish heritage.

remember that line from “let it be”: when i find myself in times of trouble, mother mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be." hard to imagine a protestant writing that.
I believe i read somewhere that he was talking about his real mother, who’s name was mary when he wrote that.
