I’m a very late-comer on the October 2 “celebration.” As I posted earlier, I forgot to bring a head covering on retreat that weekend, so I brought my hat to Mass on Oct.9. As is often the case, I was the only one with a head covering. Usually, I don’t feel good about standing out that way, but this day it was good for me to stand out a bit after Mass, because I was registering voters and asking parishioners to vote yes on California proposition 73, which returns to parents the right to know that their under-age girl is being scheduled to have an abortion.
I wish head coverings were the only thing we had to debate in the Church.
