There is a tradition that when new pope is selected certain rabbi presents him with an old sealed envelope. When this happens pope ceremoniously rejects it and rabbi leaves. So Benedict XVI is getting settled in when rabbi presents himself with an envelope. He offers it, pope rejects it and rabbi turns to leave when pope calls him back. “I know this is tradition, but what is int hat envelope?” asks pope. “I don’t know. I was given this by my predecessor who got it from his and so on.” “Shell we open it and see what’s inside?” asks the pope. So they open it and find bill for Last Supper inside…
