Jonathan Morris plays a priest in the upcoming 3-hour-long Scorsese film on Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance.

I’ll probably watch it, although to me, “The Irishman” refers to Danny Greene.

Does anyone know if this will be released in the theatres or on Netflix?

I wonder how big a role Jonathan has?

It’s going to be in theaters I believe. And I think it’s about Jimmy Hoffa.

It’s going to be released first in theaters on Nov 1 and then shortly thereafter on Netflix on Nov 27. It’s 3 and a half hours long so I’m guessing people might prefer to watch on Netflix. I know I don’t terribly want to sit in a movie theater seat for 3 and a half straight hours when I can sit on my couch at home and take breaks.

I don’t think Jonathan has a very big part. It’ll probably be similar to the usual priest rols in a mob movie - he likely hears some mobster’s confession or gives some spiritual guidance.

Thank you. I didn’t realize that it would go to Netflix that quickly.

I rarely watch Netflix anymore, I get discouraged when I want to see a film and it isn’t there. Which is most of the time.

I have the same issue and have been considering cancelling it. Just haven’t gotten around to doing so yet.

For a couple years they have been wanting to focus more on their original content than on offering us a selection of movies. I was primarily interested in them as a place to see older movies. I couldn’t care less about the vast majority of their (or anyone else’s) original TV series.

TCM has an app and there are many film classics. They rotate them frequently though.

I’m not sure if it’s only available to those who subscribe already on cable.

Yeah, my problem with TCM is that I watched them pretty much non-stop for about 15 years and have seen almost every movie on there multiple times. Many of them are also now on Youtube or similar because they have either become public domain, or the copyright owners don’t care about enforcing rights to very old B&W movies.
Also, I was using Netflix for a lot of 60s and 70s movies that TCM doesn’t have a lot of. They have more now than they used to, but still not a lot.

Thanks for the info!

TCM had a movie today that i never saw before. Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball as a bickering married couple, and James Mason was her guardian angel.

I only caught bits and pieces, but it seemed terrible.

He is still a contributor on Fox’s website. (and maybe on the news channel, but I don’t watch news except on election nights for returns. . .)

I was saddened by his request for laicization . 😦

Was so glad to see that this was not going to be a remake of Kill the Irishman! Great movie!

Yes, I can’t understand why “Kill the Irishman” came in for so much flak. One review I read said the special effects were old fashioned? I’m sorry but I do not watch a movie to rate the bomb blast special effects on a scale of 1 to 10! My only complaint with that movie was it was filmed in Detroit, when they could have easily filmed it in Cleveland.

I go past the site of Danny’s old house that got bombed pretty often (it’s a vacant lot marked with a mural), and also I go to Mass from time to time at St. Malachi’s church across from the Shondor Birns murder scene.

I do have a lot of pics of it, but not handy. This pic is someone else’s. The mural happens to be 1 or 2 blocks from a very popular music club that has over the last 20 years spawned a little artistic neighborhood in the area, which was pretty much a dump before the club opened. So everybody takes a picture of the mural.

I think there would be a problem with a more literal depiction of his antics. He did, um, kill people. I pray for his soul, for his whole group’s souls, for the police chief, and for Shondor. The bombings were part of my childhood. The house across the street from us was hiding a lot of TNT, enough to take the whole block out, and one night it caught fire (a hippie lady living there had a toddler who turned on the stove and set something ablaze) and I think the entire police force showed up along with the fire department. Also one of my school friends’ brothers had a Doberman named John Nardi.

Wow, Bear, you could write a very interesting book with your life!

I know he killed people, but still, I thought someone would have made him into a hero somehow. Still, Kaboom seems more like a “gotcha!”
