Jose dropped a dollar bill, looks like, and his shoe lace is untied.

It’s pretty cool. Human need and poverty are timeless.

I like the way the signs in the window form halos over their heads.

Actually, I think this cartoon is lovely.

Thank you for sharing.

It does a good job of emphasising the human nature of Mary and Joesph

I love it. Do you have a source for it or know the name of the artist?

Not sure how I feel about this kind of thing, but there are lots of little references in the picture. The hotel sign is Dave’s City (King David reference) and there is a reference to a Man_ger (ie it used to say manager, but now says manger). There is Weisman (Wisemen) and the star.

Not sure what the glowing plant is at the bottom.

I think it’s a reference to the Messiah being a “shoot from the stump of Jesse” (Isaiah 11:1) and a Branch from David (Jeremiah 23:5).

I like the picture of the dove over Maria, which is an obvious reference to the Holy Spirit’s role in the conception of Jesus as well as Mary’s virginity. Also, notice the star sign directly over Maria, which is referencing how the star of Bethlehem came directly over where Jesus was when the Magi visited.

No Vacancy sign at the “inn”. Probably a ton of intended items.

look at the sign of the inn- “new manager → new man ger → new manger”

Yeah. I had to download the pic and blow it wayyyy up to see a lot of what is being talked about. Can’t tell what’s to the left of the good news part, but we do see Gloria. Can’t read graffiti on what Mary is sitting on. I see Word, but what’s the red?

Interesting,

Look at the newspaper on the ground, near Jose’s feet, it says, “Shepherd Watches” and “Glad Tide”. Also, look at what’s written on the side of the pay phone, it says, “Zeke 34 15-16” which I think is a reference to Ezekiel 34:15-16.

Also, if you perhaps didn’t catch it, Maria’s shirt reads, “Nazareth High School.” Lol

I believe the red writing is the word “Flesh”. So we have “Word” and “Flesh”.

Of course, she is riding on a mechanical horse/donkey. There is a “Gloria” bumper sticker wrapped around the base of the pay phone. A lot of scriptural references. Interesting picture.
