Oh my gosh. This guy, God bless him, but I can’t listen to this. 😦

I think it would have been better had Marcus used a translator. It was an exercise in patience and frustration to listen. God bless that dear man and his wife!

They did have a text translator.

Well I watched it even though Alex was very hard to listen to. He and his family have experienced a lot. The poem he read at the beginning of Journey Home with all the imagery of iron was indeed powerful. What a shame he was so nervous because his story deserves to be shared.

Does anyone remember what happened to them in Israel which made headlines in the U.S.? I missed that part. Did the Israelis deny them citizenship because his wife, who was originally Jewish, had converted to Catholicism shortly before leaving Kasakistan?. It would be appreciated if someone could clarify what the problem was.

I don’t think that he was that nervous or that his difficulty speaking had much to do with his accent. I think he is a person who stutters and the elongations and hesitations that you heard were blocks that he was having…I’m a mild stutterer myself and those who are afflicted tend to pick up on those things. God Bless him and his wife for their brave story of conversion.
