Oh, for Pete’s sake.

It’s strange, I keep thinking I’ve heard everything, but somebody always comes along to prove me wrong.
I had the exact same reaction.

And this garbage is coming from the mainstream media that had been damning JP2 for years for NOT submitting to euthanasia, and criticised as “going too far” his doctors’ decision to open a tracheotomy to allow him to breathe when his throat was paralysed.

You can file this one with the stories about priests and nuns having secret sexual rendezvous in tunnels, aborting the babies and hiding their bodies in the church walls.
i.e. file in the bottom of your birdcage.

I just dropped in. As I am quickly surfing the replies, forgive me if I miss the point here.

It seems to me there is a world wide, rather intense, effort on the part of the secular progressives, atheists and ultra left liberals to normalize euthenasia.

The law in Oregon, the Teri Schiavo case, the continuing debate on end of life treatment (Feeding tube/no feeding tube/assisted suicide and the M.D.s/Powers of attorney and on and on…) are indicators of a certain direction leading to catastrophe.

And then there is this, comming out of good old Great Britain. A mother of a severly disabled girl is seeking approval in order that The National Health Service arrange for an operation, the result being the removal of the disabled girls womb. As I read it, the mother will probably prevail. How does this fit into the topic under discussion?

I am old enough to see, with a modicum of clarity, the pattern of things, and have experienced the unspeakable become the norm in to many cases. My point here is not complicated. The disabled people in this country and certainly in England are waging a mortal battle to keep the medical, governmental and other officials, and even their own families from carving them up in order that society not be “inconvenienced.” In this case its “only the removal of a uterus for heavens sake.” The laws of incrementalism are rigid and it won’t take long before the carving knive is directed not at the torso but at the head.

I think now is a better time than any to start worrying.
