Why don’t Christians celebrate old Jewish holidays?

True, and that is because Jesus is the fulfilment of all those holidays. Those holidays were a ‘precursor’ to Jesus.

Yom Kippur, the day of atonement . . .Jesus atoned for us all on Good Friday.

Rosh Hoshana, the new year: Jesus ushered in a New Year on Easter.

Passover: Jesus is the Passover Lamb and He celebrated this on Holy Thursday.

Etc.

Furthermore, every Sunday is a ‘little Easter’. . .and every Easter is not only a ‘new year’ but contains all the other elements. In Mass, we celebrate atonement, a new year, the Passover, Christ the Light of the World (Hanukkah), the Eucharist is our first fruits/feast (Sukkot), etc. etc.

And Mass is held every day, so at all times, Christ is our salvation and our feast, and every day is a festival, rooted in the Jewish ‘preliminaries’ and brought to fruition in Christ.

Because Christians are not Jews,

Judaism is not “the mother faith”. The faith of the Israelites is the mother faith. Actually you can’t even say that because the religion of Abraham was brought to its fulfillment with Christ. Everything in the Old Testament is just a prefiguring of the Church. All of its outward symbols are fulfilled by the inward symbols of the Church.
