Judge Throws Out Atheist Lawsuit Against Pennsylvania Ten Commandments Monument

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — A federal judge in Pennsylvania has thrown out a lawsuit challenging the presence of a Ten Commandments monument at a local high school, declaring that the complainants have not suffered injury from the display.

“Plaintiffs … have failed to establish that they were forced to come into ‘direct, regular, and unwelcome contact’ with the Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of Valley High School,” wrote U.S. District Judge Terrence McVerry wrote on Monday

Good for the judge, although this may unfortunately create precedent for the deny complaints if their sacrilegious statue is placed in a public place.

Giving an impression, however, is not the restriction the constitution puts on government. The restriction is it my not establish religion, a state church. The existence of the 10 Commandments on public property does not establish a state church.
