If I were that pharmacist, I would probably be in jail for contempt of court:
Judge Upholds Pharmacist’s Fine, Sanction for Failing to Fill Birth-Control Prescription
Ordered to pay $20,000 to pharmacy board towards costs of proceedings
By Terry Vanderheyden

BARRON, Wisconsin, February 9, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Wisconsin pharmacist who contested sanctions and a fine he received in 2004 for failing to dispense the abortifacient birth-control-pill has had the sanction against him upheld by a local judge.

Barron County Circuit Judge James Babler upheld a state Pharmacy Examining Board fine and sanctions imposed on pharmacist Neil Noesen, who in 2002 refused to fill a prescription for oral contraceptives on the grounds that to do so was in violation of his religious principles. Noesen, who worked at a K-Mart pharmacy in Menomonie, was fined $250 by his board, which also set limits on his license to practice as a pharmacist.

It is time we tell these judges where to go.

It $ound$ like this pharmacy examining board i$ only con$idering what i$ be$t for the patient$.

The lines between government and industry are so blurred it’s incredible. It’s about power: the haves and the have-nots, and we give them that power. The problem is, the system has morphed itself into an entity that any vote is a vote to empower evil, so whatareyagonnado?

Are there other industries where every sales outlet is required to carry – and dispense – every single product available on God’s green earth? This is what I don’t get – pharmacies have no legal control over which drugs they carry?

Depends on the state. In IL, the rule is if the pharmacy carries contraceptives, it must dispense contraceptives to all comers for all reasons at all times treating it as any other drug it carries. If the pharmacy doesn’t carry contraceptives, then it doesn’t have to fill scripts for them. This rule seems fair and practical to me, but there are pharmacists who work at places that dispense ABC yet have a moral reservation about ABC and they don’t think it’s fair.
