If this is accurate then Jesus will never return, there will always be a certain number of people on ‘that side of the fence’.

…the problem with your exegesis is that you’ve made that determination from one single passage… if we take into consideration Romans 11:25, we would find that God has Determined a set number… He is not just shooting an arrow into the universe and hoping it lands somewhere!

I’ve heard 2 Peter 3:9 as a passage written to assuage the fears of those who expected Jesus’ return within the lifetimes of the Apostles.
