Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Divine Providence has given us this First Day of June, the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus to be also the first day on which Mary is universally to be honored on the first Monday after Pentecost from now on. St. Paul VI announced this title to the Fathers of the Second Vatican Council and Pope Francis has recently made it a Memorial to be celebrated by the Universal Church.
The Mass Readings for Today are found at: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/060120.cfm and if anyone wishes to pray the Liturgy of the Hours for today, you can read those beautiful Prayers at: Universalis: Morning Prayer (Lauds)

Due to the word limit on CAF, I will post only a portion of today’s Gospel:R. Alleluia, alleluia.
O happy Virgin, you gave birth to the Lord;
O blessed mother of the Church,
you warm our hearts with the Spirit of your Son Jesus Christ.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Pope St. JPII reminded the Church that the Greek words in which John’s Gospel was written did not include the word “home” beut only the words “into his own” and the translator supplied the words “home”. Pope St. JPII interpreted this to mean the Apostle John took Mary into his own being, his own life, as we are called to do.Standing by the cross of Jesus were His Mother
and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary of Magdala.
When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple there whom He loved,
He said to His Mother, “Woman, behold, your Son.”
Then He said to the disciple,
“Behold, your Mother.”
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
After this, aware that everything was now finished,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
Jesus said, “I thirst.”
There was a vessel filled with common wine.
So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop
and put it up to his mouth.
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
“It is finished.”
And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit…(from Jn 18 : 25-34)
In today’s Liturgy of the Hours, Morning Prayer - Short Responsory:
Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of Your faithful. Kindle in us the fire of Your Love. In choosing Mary she was given the Love she needed to warm our hearts. Hearts are growing colder in this world, Come Holy Spirit to renew the Church and through Mary, Mother of the Church renew the Face of the Earth. The Lord chose her. He chose her before she was born.
– The Lord chose her. He chose her before she was born.
He made her live in his own dwelling-place.
– The Lord chose her. He chose her before she was born.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– The Lord chose her. He chose her before she was born.
