Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today’s Mass Readings can increase our hope in these dark times. The First Reading is a long rone from the Old Testament but in reading it we rejoice in God’s Power to save His People. The Alleluia Verse and the Gospel taken from the New Testament speak to us of the fulfillment of the Old as Jesus continues His Sermon on the Mount after announcing the Beatitudes:
Alleluia Verse

GospelR. Alleluia, alleluia.
Let your light shine before others
That they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father. (Mt 5:16)
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your Faithful! Kindle in us the Fire of Your Love!. Sacred Heart of Jesus make our hearts like Yours! Mary, Mother of the Church and Mother given to us all on Calvary, that we may behold you and see in you All the Marvelous things God has done in you and can do in each of His children who believe without doubting – please pray with us and for us, that our souls may glorify the Lord as you did on this earth, that He may shine through us as He did and continues to do on earth, through you. Amen.Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.” (Mt 5:13-16)
