June 11 - Novena in honor of Jesus through Mary - For Feast of the Sacred Heart

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

By God’s Grace, let us fervently pray a Novena in preparation for the Feast of the Sacred Heart, to be celebrated on June 19 and followed by the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 20. When we pray to Jesus, with and through Mary, we honor Their Pierced Hearts by our Repentance and Reparation. Please pray the following prayer:

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, You said: “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find; knock and and it shall be opened for you” With confidence in Your loving, compassionate Heart, I come to You as the Fountain of every Blessing. I ask You to make my heart humble and holy like Yours.

Grant me to live a holy life and to die a happy death. During this Novena, I humbly ask for certain spiritual and temporal favors: (insert you petitions here).

SacredHeart of Jesus, have mercy on us! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray with us and for us.

Today’s Alleluia Verse and Gospel can help us to live the words we pray:

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
I give you a new commandment:
love one another as I have loved you. (Jn 13:34)

Gospel

Jesus said to his disciples:
“I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven.

“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors,
You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.
But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother
will be liable to judgment,
and whoever says to his brother, Raqa,
will be answerable to the Sanhedrin,
and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.
Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift there at the altar,
go first and be reconciled with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift.
Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court with him.
Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge,
and the judge will hand you over to the guard,
and you will be thrown into prison.
Amen, I say to you,
you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.” (Mt 5:20-26)

Lord Jesus, enable us by the power of your Holy Spirit, given to bring us into ALL Truth, to “see” with eyes of Supernatural Faith, the Will of our Heavenly Father and to “hear” with the ears of our hearts as our Mother Mary did on this earth, pondering all You said and did that we may do the Truth we hear.

Dear Stephie,

Thanks so much for your Faith-full and loving “heart”. Yesterday was the optional memorial of St. Barnabas and thought of you especially since you are so much of an encourager! Hopefully you will be praying this Novena as the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, have suffered so much for us and we need to offer them true repentance, and do all we can in loving Reparation to their Pierced Hearts.

Please let us pray for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy.
