Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Blessings to you all on this beautiful Feast and the last day of our Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through Mary our meek and humble Mother whose Immaculate Heart gave her all to Him! Let us pray our Novena prayer with her:
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, You said: “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find; knock and and it shall be opened for you” With confidence in Your loving, compassionate Heart, I come to You as the Fountain of every Blessing. I ask You to make my heart humble and holy like Yours.

Grant me to live a holy life and to die a happy death. During this Novena, I humbly ask for certain spiritual and temporal favors: (insert your petitions here).

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray with us and for us.
Each of the prayers and Readings for today’s Mass are beautiful but CAF’s word limit prevents me from posting all of them – still I hope you will all take time to ponder each reading today at: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/061920.cfm

Let me post the Gospel, these words of Jesus teach and encourage us, as He prays:
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
"I give praise to You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although You have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
You have revealed them to little ones.

Yes, Father, such has been Your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to Me by My Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For My yoke is easy, and My burden light.”
Please let us continue to pray for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy, through Mary.

Merciful Jesus, I consecrate myself today and always to Thy Most Sacred Heart.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I implore, that I may ever love Thee more and more.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Thy love for me.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Thy Kingdom Come.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, convert sinners, save the dying, deliver the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

Dear GioG,

Thanks for your prayer to The Sacred Heart of Jesus. My husband and I God willing, will soon be driving to our Parish Church for Mass and I am so looking forward to offering myself with Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass through and with Mary – as they offered themselves on Calvary to doing the will of the Father for Love of Him and love for us.

I’m not sure if you are familiar with St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” but if you have never read it you can read it HERE. At the end of the treatise there is a supplement in which he explains this Devotion at Holy Communion and it has been such a blessing for me. that I like to share it with others. St. Louis wrote:
SUPPLEMENT - THIS DEVOTION AT HOLY COMMUNION

Before Holy Communion

  1. 1) Place yourself humbly in the presence of God.
2) Renounce your corrupt nature and dispositions, no matter how good self-love makes them appear to you.

3) Renew your consecration saying, “I belong entirely to you, dear Mother, and all that I have is yours.”

4) Implore Mary to lend you her heart so that you may receive her Son with her dispositions. Remind her that her Son’s glory requires that He should not come into a heart so sullied and fickle as your own, which could not fail to diminish His glory and might cause Him to leave. Tell her that if she will take up her abode in you to receive her Son - which she can do because of the sovereignty she has over all hearts - He will be received by her in a perfect manner without danger of being affronted or being forced to depart. “God is in the midst of her. She shall not be moved.”

Tell her with confidence that all you have given her of your possessions is little enough to honour her, but that in Holy Communion you wish to give her the same gifts as the eternal Father gave her. Thus she will feel more honoured than if you gave her all the wealth in the world. Tell her, finally, that Jesus, whose love for her is unique, still wishes to take His delight and His repose in her even in your soul, even though it is poorer and less clean than the stable which He readily entered because she was there. Beg her to lend you her heart, saying, “O Mary, I take you for my all; give me your heart.”
He continues with more on this Devotion both During and After Holy Communion, it this “asking Mary to give us her heart to receive Jesus” has remained a special gift and grace for me and perhaps for many others… Mary is unique in all humanity - no other person has loved Jesus as she has and continues to love Him now in heaven! God willing tomorrow we will celbrate her Immaculate Heart. 🙂

Dear unamibella,

Thanks so much for your “heart”, which indicates your love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through and with Mary our Mother. May this be a very special day for you, with many blessings! 🙂

Thanks CF,

Yes, dear friend, when we are baptized we are on our way to having the mind and heart of Christ, as St. Paul urges us in his letter to the Philippians 2:5
…Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus
The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are united in such a beautiful way, and Jesus from His Cross told us as He told John:
“Behold your Mother”
When we take Mary into our lives as John did we learn from her as she learned from Jesus and by His Grace we begin to have that “same attitude” – meek and humble of heart and filled with love for God and others because of God.

Tomorrow we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. How blessed we are to always be interested in what honors Jesus through Mary! 🙂
