Laughing over an email one son just sent. (identifying parts removed)
This son is a very enthusiastic person, gifted in many ways,
someone who makes the simplest things enjoyable, lucky Mum me:
One of the thing he set himself to years ago was to create his own classical guitar from scratch.
It’s beautiful, and his classical playing always brings tears to my eyes, so moving.

Hi Mum,

I have two musicians on staff and I mentioned when I joined [company name] that I’d built a guitar. After nearly two years, I finally brought it in last week.

We have a weekly staff update and it typically has a recipe for the week. One of the musos decided to submit a recipe article with a twist. See below. 🙂

Recipe of the week:
First, collect:
A couple of pieces of rosewood
A block of ebony
A slab of cedar
A sprinkling of mahogany
Maybe throw in some blackwood

Combine with
an overly excited grown man with access to woodworking toys
painstaking attention to details,
perhaps a sprinkling of type A perfectionism

Finish with
A gloss coating
Some nylon and steel strings
A penchant for classical guitar pieces
A dash (well ok, perhaps more than a dash…) of pride

Whaddya get – Mr (son’s name) and his very impressive handmade-by-the-man-himself classical guitar! Looks and sounds like a dream!
Rumours of other guitar nerds in the building bristling with envy……

Aww, that’s so nice that someone recognizes your son’s hard work! You must be proud of his accomplishment too! 🎸

Thank you, Irishmom 😀

And it’s so great when people have work colleagues who enjoy each other’s company.
The people you work with can make work unpleasant or a joy! 😁
