Salutations in Christ,
Code:
In one of the threads, I mentioned that there were 2 parts to the process of the impregnation.of the BVM. One, would be a spiritual process and the second, would have a human technical process. When the Holy Spirit descended on Mary and she was surrounded by His Loving Spirit, she had to have been put in a sleep state. Otherwise, she would have told Joseph and her parents what happened and how it happened to her. Then, as the Holy Spirit surrounded her, a sperm or the contents of a sperm was implanted in Mary's egg. The Holy Spirit has no body parts. But He is the part of the Trinity who is credited w the power to perform creation and "do" things. So, I remain in the mystery of how the sperm and egg became joined except for a pressure applied by the Spirit. The second part is where Jesus' humanism comes in. There had to be the DNA w the XY defining the male species joining w Mary's genes to = a zygote=,morula=embryo=fetus=baby=Jesus incarnate. Someone inferrred I was creating a heresey.I do not wish to do this.
Are we suppose to stop our thinking with the sentence that"THE HOLY SPIRIT DESCENDED UPON MARY AND SHE BECAME PREGNANT W JESUS"
I am a retired critical care nurse (science background) So, HOW????
                           In Christs' Love,
                              Alice Thank you very much

Dear Alice,

A sperm was not necessary. It is a miracle; not a human action. God brought all that exists into being from nothing without any human-like process. He didn’t need any tools. The Word was made flesh—and it was! Mary learned about her motherhood from the angel and the changes that she eventually felt in her body.

Friend, you say that you remain in the mystery as if mystery is ignorance of something that can be explained in human terms–as if it is a human mystery. There are no ‘who done its” in Scripture. The scientific method is completely inadequate in dealing with the miraculous. Mystery, with regard to God, is the acknowledgement of the inadequacy of the human mind to wrap itself around the divine. Theology can tell us much about God, but it cannot explain how God performs the miraculous.

We are supposed to accept that God can do things that go beyond our ability to comprehend. We don’t stop thinking. In acknowledging that the Word was made flesh, we are using our human intellect to acknowledge that we are small potatoes in the shadow of an infinite God. Unlike us, God can will the existence of anything and it is—period!
