My husband and I have been married 20 years and we have 5 living children. Over the course of our marriage we’ve lost 4 babies to early miscarriage (the last 2 were back-back----a couple days ago and this past January). I posted a question back in January when we lost our 3rd child about where our babies go after death if they weren’t baptised. The 2 main theories I got were that either they went to limbo where they don’t get to see the beatific vision of Christ, but were as happy as they can be, or… that they are able to go to heaven because even though we have “ordinary” ways to salvation here on earth through baptism, God has “extraordinary” ways for our babies to go to heaven without baptism by water…per se.
I guess there’s no way to know for sure and theologians haven’t quite decided either, but the question I have is…IF babies go to limbo, when Christ comes again for the Final Judgement, will those babies get to go to heaven at THAT point? I think what I’m really getting at is…will we ever get to see our babies and be with them in eternity?
I know how much God loves children and I just can’t imagine that he wouldn’t someday allow them to see his face and live in true eternal happiness. I need to know that they’re alright.
Thank you…I’d appreciate any insight.
God bless,
Danielle
