Just wanted to share with you all some stuff my priest told me today: he’s Irish and very down to earth and funny.
I confessed swearing/potty mouth frequently this week - he said save your swearing for when you really need it !
And later he said about forgiveness and grace - imagine you’ve won the lottery: you have, but you still have to come and collect the ticket (confession) and also when you feel the need to be judgmental or uncharitable about someone say a prayer for them instead .
Just wanted to share. He’s not even my ‘pastor’ but he was the priest I connected to most during RCIA and confirmed me/did my first confession and Eucharist and hugged me afterwards.
Also (and this is wild ) he has a dog and we were all sitting in a horseshoe shape during RCIA and the dog burst in one day and literally came and ‘said hello’ to each person in order one by one, around the horseshoe.
