JUSTIFY wins triple crown. . Great Horse Great Race He deserved it

I’m not disparaging only the 12th triple crown winner in history; however, drawing the 1 post was a 'lucky" break

i just think his competitors, overall, were sub-par

there will never be another horse like Secretariat…

(full disclosure: i bet the trifecta on each race; all included Justify; lost them all… )

Ah…Secretariat. Exactly correct. There never will be another like him. He set records that still stand today in all three triple crown races. When he died, he was necropsied at the University of Kentucky. Incredibly, the veterinarian who performed the necropsy, Dr. Thomas Swerczek, stated that Secretariat’s heart was the largest he had ever seen in a horse, almost twice the size of a normal horse. It weighed 19 lbs. Normal would be 10 to 12 lbs. His Belmont race performance (video below) was unbelievable. I can still hear Chic Anderson’s legendary call; “Secretariat is widening now, he is moving like a tremendous machine!”

Secretariat is the best horse/race horse that ever was or will be.I have seen videos of him, I simply love that horse and envy anyone who had the privilege to be close to him. His heart was that big for he loved and was loved so very much. God bless

Here you go Brian. Here’s his Preakness run. He’s dead last. And then, look at the move Secretariat makes. He goes from dead last to first in a matter of seconds, catching announcer Chic Anderson by complete surprise!

Mark, thank you for posting that video, I watched an interview today where they went out to the farm where Secretariat was kepi and he was unbelievable, like the owner said this horse would actually look into the camera and he knew he was being filmed. Like I said beautiful horse, big heart. Brought tears to my eyes watching him today. Again, thank you and God bless.

You’re most welcome! I can watch his races over and over again and never tire of them. I’m with you, that horse was it! There will never be another one like him. And may God bless you as well!

fans of horses get so fixed on secretariat’s belmont “blow-out” we forget about his “last to first” in the preakness

as per the announcer “he doesn’t want to go into the gate” and “last, as usual”

the ultimate result: history

greatest horse that ever lived…
