JWs and "Theocratic Warfare"

Bringing people into ‘the truth’ with a lie? Protecting ‘the truth’ with lies?

“As a soldier of Christ he is in theocratic warfare and he must exercise added caution when dealing with God’s foes. Thus the Scriptures show that for the purpose of protecting the interests of God’s cause, it is proper to hide the truth from God’s enemies…” (Watchtower, June 1/60 p.352).

While the Society lies to outsiders on one hand, they regularly lie to their own members on the other! They apparently have a fancy name for it also.

Many years ago I was dating a JW and I was a poorly catechised Catholic with very little biblical knowledge. However, even with my limited knowledge, I realised that some things she presented to me during conversations on religion were just bold face lies. I am grateful to her becuase she lead me to learn about my Catolic faith and the bible. It was just that to her telling ‘white lies’ in other to further the causes of the Watchtower and the JWs did not seem like a big deal. Some articles in this thread explain a lot things.

A JW who once befriended me did not even have the decency to tell me she was a JW … For years, she would only refer to herself with the claim that she was a “Bible Christian.” :rolleyes:

Of course, it turns out that JWs don’t believe in the divinity of Christ, so the “Christian” part was a sham. Come to think of it, their version of the “Bible” is massively warped, so the “Bible” part was phony also.
