Hello - first time poster here. The Holy Spirit has been moving me towards the true Church for years. More recently, I’ve become an EWTN junkie. On a recent episode of The Journey Home, one of the guests strongly recommended that anyone considering conversion read Karl’s Catholicism and Fundamentalism. Well once Amazon delivered, I quickly devoured that book as well as The Usual Suspects and What Catholics Really Believe. Based on the recommendations in Catholicism and Fundamentalism, I just ordered the three volumes of Jurgens’ Faith of the Early Fathers.

Praise God - these apologetic works have answered all the questions I had. (I was baptized Catholic, but raised Baptist, and was most recently Lutheran.) Between these books and a lot of earnest prayer, I’ve been able to begin the last leg of my journey quicker than I expected. I attended Friday morning Mass at my local parish and spoke with the priest afterwards. I begin RCIA this Thursday!

I ask you all, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me as I continue this glorious journey. Also - God bless you, Karl, for your wonderful books!

Oh, BTW - though I’ve already selected a parish to join, I would appreciate any (name removed by moderator)ut from posters here who are familiar with the parishes in the North Hills (Ross/West View) area of Pittsburgh. The local parishes in my immediate area are St. Teresa of Avila, St. Athanasius and St. Sebastian’s. I’ve read that it is especially recommended that converts join a more orthodox parish, and that’s what I’m shooting for. I would love to hear any opinions from North Hills residents (if there are any here) on how these parishes compare in that regard.
