we have a Catholic family bible in German it is about 200 years old, looks 400 years old, and probably weighs 60 pounds, but my brother refuses to part with it.

Mine is, but from the Lutheran tradition. I think I see this thread breaking out into a German Fete. Ach, wie verrueckt!
