What then does the Commandment to keep holy the Sabbath mean?

If a Christian is supposed to strive to not work, is it not the charitable thing to do to not go somewhere that someone is working?

Again, If Christians are supposed to strive to rest on Sunday, shouldn’t Christians strive to let others rest…believer or non-believer?

I also feel that a family meal is different, than someone having to go somewhere to work away from their family.

True. Paul said life is a struggle and though we may be perplexed we should not be in dispair. It is a struggle when it seems that no one ever seems to take a break, especially on Sundays. Are we to be guilty for taking a break? No, we must have rest because it is how G-d made us, and it is also why he made the Sabbath. We are all guided by our own consciences and must hold true to them (listening to the Pope and our priests). I think we have to be careful in judging people on the Sabbath, instead we should be mindful of everyone and upon the faith they have along with their calling. We all face different challenges but Jesus has called us together into a holy family where we are all assigned our own tasks in spreading the gospel and helping one another. If we all fulfill our tasks that G-d has given us in truth and love, our family as well as each member will be strong in Jesus Christ our Lord.
