Does anyone know of a Catholic church in the Mayfield, Kentucky area that will distribute Holy Communion on the tongue?
Under normal times, it would be improper.. I don’t think they are allowed to do this, but they have.
Whether a diocese/bishop is technically allowed to make such a restriction is certainly questionable. However: one should respect the bishop’s authority anyway and receive on the hand, or not at all.The diocese of Owensboro has suspended the ability of the faithful to receive on the tongue. I don’t think they are allowed to do this, but they have.
It’s not clear from the website (Immaculate Conception Parish – Diocese of Owensboro ) whether it is a Traditional Latin Mass (EF) or the Novus Ordo in Latin (OF). I don’t think the latter would have COTT only. This is just a default website provided by the diocese and doesn’t have particulars such as the parish bulletin, announcements, and so on.It would be a bit of a drive but maybe try calling Immaculate Conception parish in Earlington. According to your diocese website they have Latin Mass every Sunday, so if they distribute the Eucharist it will be on the tongue. I don’t know anything about them (just searched online trying to help you out) and they don’t seem to have a website, but worth a phone call.
Unfortunately, he brought it up in his second and third posts.I love how threads like this go. A person asked a very specific question that had nothing to do with COTT vs CITH debate. He didn’t ask for people’s opinions on the matter. But yet here we go with the debate again.
