I do not know where to post this, but it is a post about a very controversial person.

What do you think about Kevin MacDonald who is well-known for his published work about the Jews written from the perspective of evolutionary psychology? Some “politically-correct” leftists, such as the Anti Defamation League, deem him notorious, often calling him the pejorative epithet “anti-Semite” without addressing the intellectual content of his work. As for me, I do not completely agree with his political views of ethnonationalism, but I am somewhat sympathetic to his political views (which is surprising because a self-styled “socialist” has some admiration for him). I read a substantial portion of his work, including as his papers, columns, books, and blog entries, and enjoyed it as his controversial well-researched expositions, reflecting his formidable expertise and knowledge, whet my intellectual curiosity despite our differing views. I also listen to some videos of him on YouTube such as his opinion on immigration and I agree with most of it.

I still find some of his work “exaggerated” but if his work is completely devoid of intellectual merit or does not convey anything significant, then I would not read it.

Most Jews aren’t even religious. I find it difficult to identify what a Jew believes because they’re no longer connected to their religious beliefs. For instance, the Orthodox do not believe in abortion just like Catholics. But then you have Kagan which would be a match with our Pelosi, Biden etc.

The Jews I know have treated us better than our own families. We are totally on opposite ends of the political spectrum but happy to say they’ve started to question their previous choices. My friends are not afarid to admit they might have erred…Thank God.

The group I’m concerned about are the Muslims.

I think he’s full of hot air. Being associated with white supremacy gets him noticed, so he capitalizes on it, and makes himself out to be a martyr.

I read through “An Evolutionary Perspective on the Tanakh”. Some legitimate observations, and mostly ****. Such as:

“For the Israelites, there was really only one purpose for God—to represent the idea of kinship, ingroup membership, and separateness from others.” Huh?

“The ideology of the Tanakh can be seen as an attempt to lessen the normal tendency for such individuals to defect under these circumstances by blaming all sufferings on the fact that Jews have not adhered rigorously to the group strategy.” Riiight. Bad Jews! You should have let everyone go worship idols.

There’s nothing approaching orthodox Catholic scriptural exegesis in that.

Full disclosure: I have NOT read anything by this man. But if the above quote is accurate, then it’s just plain old anti-Semitism, dressed up in fancier language.

The field of evolutionary psychology is fairly questionable. My impression is that is largely untestable, and is often little more than an intellectualized version of bar stool speculation. I think EP tends to justify the pre-existing beliefs of the person making the claims.

Perhaps that is the case with Kevin McDonald.

I see these views from Kevin MacDonald as Antisemitism with another twist.
Evolutionary Psychology is just another primitive secular branch in human theoretical science. I’ve seen similar people in my country write books whether its denouncing Jews or lifting them up on a high evolutionary pedestal with ulterior motives that in the end result in ridicule of the Jewish people.

I wouldn’t pay any mind to this man’s thinking.
