I always liked Kevin Spacey. What a terrible rotten shame for his victims, his fans, himself.

These things with Hollywood have been going on for a long time. Why are they coming to light just at this time now?

“…there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” (Luke 8:17)

“To everything there is a season, at time for every purpose under heaven…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

They are immediately reshooting the scenes using Christopher Plummer as J. Paul Getty.

Because as long as everybody was making money, they just kept covering up, especially since I’m sure Spacey (and all the other guys who’ve been publicly called out for harassment and rape) are not the only ones doing it in Hollywood.

You can still like his past acting performances (I suspect he won’t have many or any future ones). Many people capable of making great art have done truly terrible things in their personal lives. It doesn’t take away from the art.

Good point. As sad as this is, Hollywood had to know about at least about his film-set shinanigans.

By the reports coming out now, Spacey was making the House of Cards set positively toxic. This was a man, like Weinstein, who had been granted a lot of power, and who abused it. Spacey was executive producer on House of Cards, which pretty much gave him license to squelch any report of misdeed, and since up until the last few weeks, cast and crew who complained about star, director, or executive director harassing them (sexually or otherwise, wait for the other shoe to drop about just plain mean and rotten directors and producers), could basically be blacklisted, people like Weinstein and Spacey could get away with virtually anything.

And now we find out Louis CK is a pervert (which doesn’t surprise me, I’ve found some elements of his standup comedy a bit weird for a long time, and am not a fan).

I just wonder who’s going to be left standing at the end of this.
