My 9 year old daughter asked a good question in the car tonight as we were going to hit a few golf balls. “Dad, how do we know God is real? How do we know Jesus is real?” She just finished 3rd grade at Catholic school a week ago, and her question is real based upon a real curiosity that I pray she always will have. I gave her my best answer about thinking about could this entire world happen by accident, or is a greater power behind it all? It was my 3rd grade version of “the uncaused first cause”. I think I blew an opportunity to give her more. What have you said to your children to “Prove the existence of God” to your child? Any ideas about how to explain this better would be appreciated. As she advances in knowledge I know her questions will be more thought provoking and I would like to be prepared to answer any question she earnestly asks.

Thank you for your help.
