That could very well be the Orthodox view on things, I read somewhere that the early church had certain practices and views similar to that, ie uncleanliness associated wit the act or whatever. I would think that the Church today doesnt bar a soldier or someone who killed in self defense from communion because a) it wasnt sinful and b) the Eucharist would probably help heal some of the emotional or psychological damage if it was present.
