Kind of shocked to see what gets published out there

I read a copy of the short history of the United Church of Christ. Really amazing how much ugly stuff gets left out on the Protestant side, but how much of the nastiness of the Catholic Church gets put out there.

The gal who gave it to me, the same one who I wished I had know the Church’s teachings and the truth therein, before entering in the relationship with, was kind of speechless when I presented her with the other side of the coin related to Henry VIII, the destruction of church statutes, etc. by folks in other locations, and the rest.

What do you mean the other side of Henry VIII and the destruction of Church statues? I know that happened in the the Byzantine Empire with iconoclasm. Are you saying the Catholic Church puts out bad stuff? Or that the Church of Christ does?

I think the OP is referring to the persecution of Catholics that is sometimes ignored by the Protestants. They point at “Bloody Mary” but either ignore or are ignorant of “Bloody Bess.”
