Kingdom of Heaven on earth?

Hello, i am doing some research on the Kingdom of God. I understand the kingdom of Heaven is both here on earth and in heaven and they co-exist.

can you help me understand the Kingdom of God/Heaven on earth? I have been reading and some articles say to stop “building” the kingdom on earth… is this true? are we supposed to cooperate with God on building the kingdom of heaven on earth by being his hands and feet, or is that purely the work of God?

any help in understanding this would be great, as i have a presentation to give to some teenagers. thank you.

Even though we’re pilgrims here in this worldly exile from God, with our true home to be found in the next life, we’re called to work to make* this* world as heavenly as possible rather than abandoning it and isolating ourselves as some religious folk are wont to do:

I remember reading one time a NDE where the person who had this experience said that the Earth was like a negative of a photograph, and that the real picture was Heaven .

The kingdom of God means, then, the ruling of God in our hearts; it means those principles which separate us off from the kingdom of the world and the devil; it means the benign sway of grace; it means the Church as that Divine institution whereby we may make sure of attaining the spirit of Christ and so win that ultimate kingdom of God Where He reigns without end in “the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God” (Revelation 21:2).

Well Jesus said to Pilot that his kingdom was not of this world. He meant by that his kingdom is of another world … heaven.

However he often mentioned in the Gospels about his kingdom starting now. By this he meant that his presence is in the human heart of those that chose him. And his presence in the human heart (soul) is a pronouncement of belonging to his kingdom of heaven some day. A person freely choses to be a child of God thru love which in turn gives that person the birth right to inherit what is his at death…the kingdom.

This is the good news that Jesus sent his apostles to preach to all nations.

• 5 …The Miracles of Jesus also confirm that the Kingdom has already arrived on earth: “If I cast out devils by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you”.(22) Before all things, however, the Kingdom is clearly visible in the very Person of Christ, the Son of God and the Son of Man, who came “to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many:”(23)

1 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

(St. Matthew 3:1-2)
St. John the Baptist announces it: the Kingdom of God is near!

15 And saying: The time is accomplished, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.

(St. Mark 1:15)

36 And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd. 37 Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few. 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest. (St. Matthew 9:36-38)

20 And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come? he answered them, and said: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you. (St. Luke 17:20-21)
Jesus Reveals that the Kingdom of God is at hand and that it is NOW.

The Kingdom of God starts from Christ’s Public Ministry… it is found right here on earth but it is not earthbound.

The Church makes the connection this way:

1. The Church Militant–here and now
2. The Church Penitent–Pulgatory
3. The Church Triumphant–Heaven

Since the Church is the Body of Christ, it can be seen how the Kingdom of God is here and now but extends into the future in Heaven.
