What is the point of kissing your right hand after making the sign of the cross? thx

There was a thread about this a while ago…maybe try searching for it. I believe that the consensus was that it was a cultural thing.

It is kissing the top of the thumb which is a representaion of the cross that Christ was on.

It is to show love for the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, they cross their thumb and index finger into the shape of a cross and kiss it.

I know it is done by many Hispanics, I am not not sure of which other cultures do this but I have certainly seen many Hispanics showing their love of Jesus in this way.

God Bless

It’s more of a cultural thing. Mostly us Hispanics do it. It’s symbolically kissing the cross.
