Kneeling after communion?

When is it appropriate to kneel after communion? Do I stand until everyone has received the Eucharist and then kneel or can I kneel as soon as I return to my pew? Is it okay to remain kneeling after the priest sits down, because sometimes I am not done praying, but I notice that is when everyone else stops kneeling and begins sitting?
