My friend posted this on Facebook yesterday and I was wondering how big Knickers’ cow patties are and how long one would burn.

It’s what many US settlers used to make fires in the 1800s, especially on the prairie where there was no wood or coal. Even where you could get wood and coal, your cow’s poop was free and easy to gather.

The size great difference in size with Knickers and the other cows in the picture is due to the breeds. The brown cows are a smaller breed.

The picture reminds me of a class picture of second graders in religion class, with a fifth grader who hadn’t made first communion yet, so he’s in class with the second graders.
