Hi all-
I have been reading a history on the Knights Templar, and Ive learned quite a lot about this controversial group, which I believe to be much less terrible than they are made out to be.

That being said, i have not found any info on whether we have any canonized saints who were members of the order. Does anyone know of any of these saints, if any have been canonized?

I believe St. Bernard of Clairvaux was a Cistercian, but this book calls him “a leading advocate of the Knights Templar.”

To the best of my knowledge, no Templar knight has been canonized. This is a great injustice, especially the over 70 knights who were martyred by Saladin in Acre who, one by one, gave up their lives instead of denying Our Lord.

Especially nowadays, having such brave and faithful men as intercessors of the millions of Christians being persecuted by those the Knights Templar resisted would be a great consolation and blessing.
