Hey all. For some reason I started to look into the Knights Templar. Now, as I have grown up in a secular society, I have only heard negatives regarding the group. From public school, college, movies, History Channel, and video games these Knights appear to be cultic freaks who enjoyed death.
But as I read more, I’m not really seeing that. Just men that chose a holy, chaste life for the protection of the Faith. Warrior monks. And as a veteran who wanted to honor God as a weapon wielder, this appeals to me.
Since they were a Catholic group, I thought I’d ask here. So…
Were the Knights Templar blood crazy maniacs? Or devout Catholics trying to hold back the Ottomans in love for their neighbors?
