Korean Catholics openly use contraception?

One of my students at a Catholic university in Korea was telling me that Korean Catholics openly use birth control and it is not frowned upon in any way.

I was very suprised, has anyone ever heard anything like this?

Gee - I did not know things like this were done in the open…no matter what country!

I am willing to bet a Korean would say the same about Catholics in the USA. Its wrong but preasts need to teach the faith and we need to live it. I think by saying nothing about the subject lay Catholics are getting the wrong message.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but most catholics i know openly use birth control and the sofisticated way to be is to not discuss it openly… but, there are a large percentage who openly reveal their choice despite Rome’s admonishment, but that’s always been… It’s your way, not God’s way… it’s what we want, and what we want now, and don’t you dare judge me… I keep trying to remind those that feel the need to convert me… Free will is a biggie to God and his church… and I support your free will… just because i recognize sin doesn’t mean i’m judging a soul… please save your defense for St Peter when you step up to account for your decisions. My responsibility is to respond honestly to you despite how uncomfortable you may feel…
