"Labor Temple"

Good Morning,

I was reading the newspaper this morning and was struck by what the labor movement describes their building as. The “Waukesha Labor Temple” was where a democrat was holding a rally yesterday. Has anyone ever discovered why they call it a Temple?

I had only heard that the word temple used when describing a place to worship God. Does this have anything to do with Masons and their “temples?”
