I received the 2010 Lady of Fatima Calendar which has what looks like a bunch of photo-shopped images of the statue of OLOF.
I really detest that statue, depicting Mary as this red-eyed, plucked eyebrow princess. What really ices it for me, is the oversize crown that Mary is depicted as wearing.
Look at it, the crown is depicted as being larger than the statue’s head. It is out of proportion and generally ridiculous in appearance.
If anybody knows, I’d like to understand why Mary is depicted with those red eyes, as if eternally weeping. That’s not how I picture Mary crowned in heaven in the beatific vision.
