Hi All!

Going to Lancaster, PA this weekend. Can any one in that area reccommend a catholic church for Saturday or early Sunday mass?

Thanks
Steve

My home town!

I like Sacred Heart, which is in downtown Lancaster. It’s a pretty church, nice community, nice young priest.

I don’t live in Lancaster anymore, but my parents do and my mother attends at the 5:00 mass. My wife and I join her whenever I’m in town.

Enjoy Lancaster… this your first time?

Also, let me know where in Lancaster you’re staying… I know most of the churches in the area, so if Sacred Heart is too far for you I’ll recommend another. The town isn’t all that big though, so travel time probably won’t be an issue.

Saint Mary’s, in down town Lancaster, is the 4th oldest Catholic church in America, and it is beautiful! stmaryslancaster.org

St Anthony’s is also very nice. There are maps at masstimes.org. Actually all the Churches down town are nice.

Thanks for the info! I will try to get there Sunday morning. I was in Lancaster last year, but was there on a Sunday, so everything was closed. We will be there on Saturday this time, so hopefully we’ll be able to experience more of the town.

Hope the weather holds out for you!

If you’re downtown on Saturday morning, check out Central Market. It’s the oldest farmer’s market in the country, and has great fresh vegetables, candy, and fun Lancaster stuff like shoofly pie, whoppie pies, apple dumplings, and red-beet eggs.

It opens early Saturday, and I believe it closes at 2 PM, and it’s not open on Sunday.
