Hi all! I'm a 28F from Ireland, I grew up catholic but never really understood or felt like my faith was my own. I've been away from the church for at least 10 years but recently I found my faith. Although I thought returning would be easy but as much as I want to, I am struggling.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Does anyone know of an online groups or even some in Ireland that could help?
Thanks!

Not clear to what extent you were catechized in your youth, but here are some excellent sources to start studying:

(There is also a Volume III that goes into more depth)

My Catholic Faith, an excellent catechism.

Life In Christ, another one, shorter and easier to read. This is what we presently use in our homeschool religion class. You have to open a free account to gain access to it. The 1958 version is much more elaborated than later, post-Vatican II editions, those are very much whittled down and not the best.

Also, if you have never attended the Traditional Latin Mass, I heartily recommend it. Here is the Latin Mass Society of Ireland's website:

Also pray the Rosary and start wearing the Brown Scapular. Aside from the Mass, there is no better way to embrace the Catholic life.

Thank you, that's very kind of you 🙏 ❤️

I think what you are going through happens to lots of people. They go to college, get out on the own for a bit, but life just somehow feels not complete. I had a desire to go back to the Church and it helped to complete me. But because our fallen nature has not been completely cured by grace in this life, we still struggle. The important point is not the struggle, but to persevere. I heard that St. Mother Theresa of Calcutta felt dryness in her prayer for many years. Daily Mass has helped me so much. A daily reminder of what Jesus did for me, He comes to me in the Eucharist, and I can ask Him to help me.
