Large print book for 94 year old father for Christmas

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can get a large print book on the prophets? I would like this as a Christmas gift for my father. He just lost my mom after 70 years of marriage and 10 children. He is really interested in the prophets and I would love to give him this. I looked online but can’t find anything. Thank you for your help!🙂
 
I think you’ll have better luck finding a large print edition if you research the titles you want and then search for whether large-print editions of those books were ever published. If you find that, get on the internet and search the ISBN. I have found books sold online by book depositories in foreign countries in this way. That unique number can open lots of doors that a more vague search will not.

If you have a local seminary, don’t be shy about calling up and asking to get in contact with one of the theology professors. Funny thing, but they tend to be nice guys who love to help would-be scholars among the laity, too. They might have ideas for you. They probably won’t know what is available in large print, but they may be able to help you identify titles that would fit your dad’s interest and background.

Don’t forget to look for Kindle versions…every book is large-print on a computer that can zoom in on the text. (There are Kindles that are better and worse for users with poor vision: webrn-maculardegeneration.com/kindle-reader.html ). If he’s not as strong as he used to be, consider that a Kindle might be easier to manage than a massive hard-cover book. (I think there are also Kindle holders, so he wouldn’t have to prop it up for himself.)

Also consider whether an audio or DVD format would be better or worse. You may be able to find Catholic DVD courses or lectures on CD or MP3 that are appropriate for him. Be sure to read reviews of those–not just the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down,” but whether the course is aimed at the student audience your dad belongs in.

The Kindle idea is a good one.
