At Cromwell High School in Connecticut, a 15-year-old boy with a mustache recently crushed female competitors in track and field, to the great dismay of the girls who have spent many intense days training so hard.
This doesn’t seem fair, does it?
It does in the left’s brave new world of fundamental transformation. The boy, you see, calls himself a girl. That’s his self-proclaimed “gender identity.” And all’s fair in the bizarre universe of modern-day LGBTQ liberalism.
. . .
The (real) girl who finished second to Andraya, a junior named Kate Hall, was tearful over her loss. “It’s frustrating,” Hall said. “But that’s just the way it is now. … I can’t really say what I want to say, but there’s not much I can do about it.”
I guess the world of sports will never be the same again.

Full article here.

Utterly ridiculous. There is already a word for this. Its called CHEATING.

Indeed. It’s an unfair advantage. I guess he feels pretty good about winning against girls.
Guess he felt it was easier than competing against the boys, like himself.

Once again, feelings outweigh reality.

The coaches should have said, “Look, feel whatever you want to, but you have a male body, and sport is about the body. So get in the male tryouts or beat it.”

But no-one wanted to hurt the kid’s feelings.

If this trend is not kiboshed soon, it will undo a century of female sport history. What young females will want to train for competitions dominated by males, to say nothing of using locker and shower facilities that will have males in them?

should go with a blood test…testosterone based, too much, your out of the girls club. Tests administered in and out of season…judge them by the science, not the feelings.

From the article: “The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference permits students and their schools to decide which teams they can join.”

So, perhaps, the proper response is “those are the rules in Connecticut, so that’s the way it goes.”

With very few exceptions, a blood test should not be required to tell what kind of body someone has.

And those few exceptions, as hard as they may be to live with, aren’t driving this insanity.

Wow, I’m from Connecticut and graduated high school in 2015. I didn’t realize that the CIAC now allowed players to join teams based on which sex they “identify with” or when this ludicrous system was launched.

In a word, stupid. May God have mercy on us all.

But, according to the rules, he is a girl, because he identifies as a girl. Even according to the Title IX rules, at least as interpreted by the prior administration, “sex discrimination” includes not treating someone as the sex they identify as, even though the biological sex may differ. That was how the whole bathroom controversies arose. A transgender who identifies as a girl is a girl. There was also a case in which a college woman swimmer who identified as male was allowed to join the mens swim team.

The boy’s father is quoted as saying: “If someone says, ‘Why is your daughter running with the girls?’ I say because she’s my daughter, much like the reason your daughter is running with the girls.” The dad barks: “She’s running exactly where she should be running!”

I have sympathy for those who are genuinely struggling with their gender identity. Everyone obviously knows that the boy in the article simply wants to win a race. He can win, but everyone will know his true character. In a way, he has damned himself.

I don’t know anything about the boy in the story or his state of mind. And as far as I know, there are no formal factors for determining the sincerity of a gender identity. What we do know is that he is a biological male. Everyone is either a biological male or female, and that is not changeable even though surgery can change appearances.

It is scientifically shown that gender is not discrete, but continuous, and it is possible for one to have the sex organs of one gender but psychiatrically identify as the other.

You do realize that we live in a fallen world?
More so all the time. What we have with transgender theory is not just a fallen world but a refusal to recognize reality. I guess we can credit Justice Kennedy ‘sweet mystery of life’ passage. We can all be what we want to be, with no need to recognize reality.

At elite level sports, i understood there were objective measures to ascertain the appropriate male/female categorization of s competitor (if required).

Certsinly, allowing a person with a male body to compete in a female event seems to ignore the rationale for distinguishing male and female events. Perhaps that’s the way of the future? If the distinction is not bodily, why bother?
