I know there is a mass offered at St. Pius X out by Fort Sam, but that is way out of my way for regular attendance. I know, I know, that is not a good excuse. But with today’s instruction on Summorum Pontificum, is anybody on the Northwest Side of San Antonio interested in getting a group together to approach a parish on this side of town. Thank you and sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

There were petitions started at a number of different parishes across San Antonio about 4 months ago to bring the Latin Mass in, but I don’t know the current status. Surely after Universae Ecclesia, these petitions will have more weight.

For now, I would recommend staying at St. Pius X, which is where I go now. We drive a pretty mile to get there too as we are 8 miles north of 1604, but I think we need to keep the attendance there as strong as possible (and frankly, the collection plate full) until the Latin Mass really takes root in San Antonio. And it will.

I can tell you that one of the next parishes to get the TLM will be Our Lady of Guadalupe on El Paso street. Father Marshall is currently studying the TLM and will be a matter of time before he starts offering it. Please pray for him in his studies.
