Laudate Dominum

We sang this chant by Jacques Berthier for the Processional Hymn at the Priestly Ordinations last month, but there are more words than just the refrain which is repeated by the laity, “Laudate Dominum, Laudate Dominum, Omnes, Gentes, Alleluia”. The verses were sung by the choir (In English), but the lyrics were not provided. I believe it’s based off Psalm 116? In any event, it was beautiful and the only lyrics I find online are the refrain lyrics. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? And if so…do you have the lyrics for the verses? I also couldn’t find the lyrics to that particular version, but it is a psalm that is often set to music. This is what’s usually used:

Laudate Dominum omnes gentes
Laudate eum, omnes populi
Quoniam confirmata est
Super nos misericordia eius,
Et veritas Domini manet in aeternum.

Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper.
Et in saecula saeculorum.
Amen.

English:
Praise the Lord, all nations;
Praise Him, all people.
For He has bestowed
His mercy upon us,
And the truth of the Lord endures forever.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever,
and for generations of generations.

I sang this before in Church. I’m trying to think in what context although we only sang the chorus.

I truly believe God was preparing me all along for Catholicism.

I would love to see this sung by the folks at my parish doing a recession or procession.

Yes, I’d love to hear this sung more often as well. Of course, I’m partial to the Mozart (used it for our wedding so it has a special place in my heart ), but this one was particularly lovely and inspiring.

This is frequently sung at Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, when the Most Holy is reposed in the tabernacle.
